Vertex extruder front mount

Vertex extruder front mount

Description

It Was Always A Hassle To Get The Filament In And Out The Extruder/Feeder Piece. So I Designed This Part To Relocate The Extruder And Motor To Te Front Panel Of The Printer. You Can Use The Original Hex Screws To Fix The Part To The Front Panel. The Part Fits Snuggly Over The Black Corner Piece, No Need To Remove It. There Is No Thread In The 2 Fixing Holes, You Wil Have To Do This Yourself With A Screw Tap M5. The 4 Holes For The Motor Are Ok. Watch Out For The Rotation Direction Of The Extruder/Feeder Motor. I’Ve Placed Mine On The Same Side (Left On Front Panel) Like The Original, See Pictures. Because My Printer Is In A Enclosure, I Need To Keep The Outer Dimensions To A Minimum. The Way To Do This Is To Point The Metal Lever Inwards. As I Have A Dual Head Printer I Used The Black Feeder Piece Of The Second Hot-End (Extruder 2) For Extruder 1. Problem Is The Motor Turns Inverted, So I Had To Switch The Rotation Direction. There Are Several Way’S To Do This. The Software Way, Where You Have To Set A Flag In The Firmware And Flash It To The Mainboard. From Experience Not My Cup Of Thee, As It Tends To Go Wrong Sometimes. I Went For The Hardware Option, Switching The Pins In The Connector. This Way You Switch Coil A, With Coil B From The Extruder Motor (See Diagram). A Third Way, Also When You Have A Single Head, Is To Mirror The Part For Printing. Than You Can Use Extruder 1 As Is. There Are Of Course Other Possibilities, Just Make Sure The Filament Is Going The Right Way.
