Silicone tube based corner mounts for Lulzbot Taz 1-5 and Aluminum bed plates

Silicone tube based corner mounts for Lulzbot Taz 1-5 and Aluminum bed plates

Description

This Project Allows You To Use Silicone Rubber Fuel Tubing In Place Of Your Springs. The Tube I Am Using Was Intended For A Chain Saw, And Is About 1/4" In Diameter. You Need 4 Identically Cut Tube Lengths About The Same Length As The Stock Springs, Several M3 Heat Set Inserts, And The Stock M3 Mounting Hardware And Bed Retention Fingers. You May Need Slightly Longer M3 Bolts Depending On The Final Length Of Your Tubing. Instructions. Print From Abs (Pla Will Melt Here) Then Remove The Integrated Support Inner Tube From The Bottom Of The Mount. Insert The Silicon Tube Up Into The Mount, Then Attach To The Bed As Usual. When Tightening The Silicon Tube, It Will Tend To Expand In Diameter. I'Ve Had The Corners All The Way Down To The Aluminum Without Splitting The Mount, But Depending On Your Tube Density, You May Want To Check The Gap When Installing. The Mounts Have The Tube Up Inside Them, So Are Theoretically Slightly Shorter Bed Profile Overall So You May Need To Adjust Your Nozzle Closer To The Bed. Note: This Corner Is Dimensionally Sized To Work With A 12" X 12" X 3/16" Aluminum Plate. It Will Be Slightly Loose On A Stock 300Mm X 300Mm Glass Bed. You Can Compensate With Spacers If You Like.
