Lulzbot Taz Camera Mount

Lulzbot Taz Camera Mount

Description

This Is A Mount For Holding A Webcam On The Lulzbot Taz (Specifically Tested On The Taz 5 And 6, But May Work On Others). I'Ve Looked At Other Designs, But Found Them Either To Sensitive To Vibration, Or Were Not Designed For 1/4" Tripod Mount Cameras (I'M Using The Logitech C615, And Didn'T Want To Modify The Case). You Will Notice The Heavy Duty Framework, Which Helps Substantially To Reduce Camera Vibration When There Is Fast Hot End Movement. This Design Includes The Mount, A U-Shaped Lock To Secure The Mount To The Table And A Threaded Knob To Mount The Camera - No Additional Hardware Is Required, And No Screws Are Loosened/Changed On The Bed. There Is A Wire Channel To Cleanly Secure And Hide The Usb Wire To The Webcam To Under The Bed. I'Ve Tested It For Clearance With The Single Extruder (2.1), But I'D Guess It Has Room To Clear The Other Extruders As Well (Let Me Know If You Find A Problem With Other Extruders). Update Feb 17, 2018: Thanks To Extreme_Sitting, I Learned This Mount Needed Some Changes To Work With The New Aerostruder (See Comments). I Have Remodeled The Design To Move The Lattice Framework To The Outside Of The Arm Instead Of The Inside, Saving Space And Also Further Strengthing The Arm. Update March 21, 2018: The Update From February Is Just A Bit Thicker, Making The Knob A Little Too Short. I'Ve Lengthened The Knob And It Works Much Better. I Recommend Printing The Knob At High Density (80-100%) As I Did One At 30% And It Eventually Broke Off.
