Anet A8/AM8 2020 X-Axis Conversion
Description
I Combined The X-Axis Rod Holder With The Motor Mount And The Belt Tensioner. This Reduces The Width Of The Printer. **You Will Need A 430Mm 2020 V-Slot Extrusion** For This, Instead Of 500 Mm Of The Original Thing I Remixed It From. On Retrospect, I Strongly Recommend Using The "Long" Version (With 2 Bearings At Each Side). **Updated: Feb 10, 2019** Uploaded The Source (Sketchup) Files. **Updated (Parts List): Jul 20, 2018** Non Printed Parts List: - 1X 430Mm 2020 V-Slot Extrusion - 1X Gt2 20-Tooth Idler Wheel (Depending Of The Bore - 3Mm Or 5Mm - Print The Equivalent X-Belt Tensioner Part) - 1X 20Mm Screw For Securing The Idler Wheel (Either M3 Or M5 Depending On The Idler Wheel Bore) - 1X Nut For Securing The Aforementined Screw (Either M3 Or M5 Depending On The Idler Wheel Bore) - 1X 20Mm M3 Screw For Tensioning The Belt - 1X M3 Nut For The Aforementioned Screw **Updated: Feb 8, 2018** I Have Made Short And Long Versions Of The Carriage, Utilizing One Or Two Bearings. Since The Long Version Extends Downwards, It Should Not Affect The Maximum Print Height. I Also Made Versions Without Endstops. If You Need An Endstop For These, You Can Use The One From: Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2439194 Last But Not Least, The Design Includes "Anti-Wobble" Protection For The Z Axis. The Holes For The Lead Screw Nuts And Their Mounting Screws Are Larger Than Needed. I Did It On Purpose. You Have To Tighten The Screws Just Enough, So The Nut Can Move Freely On The Horizontal But Be Steady On The Vertical. This Way, It Can Absorb The Wobble Of The Leadscrew. Be Sure To Use Locknuts. Normal Nuts Tend To Unscrew Themselves From The Vibrations Over Time. Finally, For Less Friction I Also Used These: Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2216161 Printed In Pla As Shims. Here Is A Small Video Demo Of The Anti-Wobble Feature: Https://Www.Youtube.Com/Watch?V=_Bi2Iksqjhs **Updated: Mar 17 2018** I Added An X-Axis Belt Tensioner Version For An Idler Pulley With A 5Mm Axis. **Update: Apr 4 2018** The E3D Mount On The Photos Is My Design (Or Rather A Remix Of A Couple Of Designs I Liked): Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2791211
