Solidoodle Hot-End Rebuild R1 1/4/2018 For Those Of You That Printed The Original Solidoodle Hot-End Rebuild Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2210491 Here Is Another Option You May Want To Use That Eliminates The Hot End Bowden Tubing Fitting: The Printer Was Running Along Fine, Then The Bowden Tube Popped Out Of The Top Of The Tubing Fitting At The Top Of The Hot End Mounting. You Could See That The Fitting Had Clearly Been Loose For A While And Worked It Self Apart. There Would Be No Repairing Of It. Since We Did Not Have A Spare Fitting, And Did Not Want To Wait For Some Parts To Be Purchased We Decided To Do Something That We Able To Do Ourselves Locally. It Would Take A Couple Of Trials To Be Able To Draw And Fabricate Something That Would Hold The Bowden Tubing In Place. Also, When Upgrading It, We Wanted To Make It So It Would Be Able To Take The Hot End Of The Extruder Apart Easily When Needed. We Started By Designing And Replacing The Bowden Front Cover Plate, That Has The Extruder Hot End Fan Mount. When Making Those Parts We Added A Small Tab At The Top Where The Bowden Tubing Sandwiched In Place. So Now, Instead Of Going Through That Process Of Pulling The Tubing Out Of The Fitting, We Can Just Loosen A Couple Of Bolts On The Sandwich Plate And The Tubing Just Pulls Straight Up And Out. No More Tubing Stuck In The Fitting, No More Tubing Popping Out Of The Fitting At The Most In Convenient Time, No More Cutting The End Off Of The Tubing To Get The Fitting Off. Just No More “Tubing Fitting” To Fiddle With. In The Process Of Making These Parts For The Extruder Hot End Fan Mount, It Was Changed From Being A 30 Mm Size Fan To Now Using A Standard 40 Mm Size Fan. Ended Up With Three New Parts: 1). New: Bowden Front Cover With Clamp R3.Stl 2). New: Bowden Clamp Cover R1.Stl (Sandwiches The Tubing Tightly In Place) 3). Replaced: 30 Mm_Clamp_Fan_Mount.Stl With New: Extruder Hot End Fan Brackets R1.Stl (Holds Side Part Cooling Fan, And The New 40 Mm Extruder Hot End Cooling Fan) *** Pictures Show Two Different Printers That Were Modified. One Printer Shown Has The Green And Gray Printed Parts, The Other Printer Shown Has All Black Printed Parts ***
