Ratchet Mechanism Demo

Ratchet Mechanism Demo

Description

This Project Was A Small Test In Learning Screw Thread Tolerances And Making A Simple Gear In Fusion 360. A Simple Gravity-Fed Pin, Sloped On One Side Illustrates How Ratcheting Mechanisms Work Under A Relatively Simple Principle->Make Motion Easy In One Direction And Difficult In Another. The Shape Of The Pin Is Sloped At One Side To Allow It To "Ride" Up On The Saw-Tooth Gear Teeth When Rotated Counter-Clockwise, But Two Vertical Edges Meet At A Parallel When Trying To Move Clockwise, Stopping The Movement. Hope You Enjoy :). If The Pin Is Getting Stuck, Filing It Down On The Edges Should Help It Move Freely. Some Super Glue Can Help Hold The Body On The Base If The Parts Are A Loose Fit (So Far I Have Not Needed Any Glue). Https://Www.Youtube.Com/Watch?V=Zqwvb4M48Go&Feature=Youtu.Be
