Ultimate Tevo Tarantula Upgrade. --------------------------------------------------- This Thing Is A Result Of Months Spent On Upgrading My Tarantula. Wanted Printer Which Is Reliable And More Rigid Than Stock One. Therefore All Acrylic Parts Were Removed And Replaced With Elements Designed From Scratch. I Did Reuse Some Brackets Designed By Thingirob. See Description Below. X And Y Axis ------------------ To Get Rid Of All Play Introduced By Stock Wheels I Decided To Switch To Mgn9 Linear Rail On X Axis And Mgn12 Linear Rail On Y Axis. X And Y Axis Parts Include Belt Tensioners. There Are Two Versions Of Y Axis Belt Tensioners Available. Use Y_Yaxisbelttensioner1.Stl Y_Yaxisbelttensioner2.Stl If You Want It To Be Easier To Use Or Y_Yaxisbelttensionershort.Stl If You Want To Fit Your Tarantula Into Ikea Stuva Cabinet (I Use It As Enclosure). To Be Able To Mount Linear Rails Make Sure You Have Some T-Nuts With M3 Thread. Mgn9 Rail Should Ordered In Version H. Mgn12 Rail Should Be One Which Fits Your Y Carriage. Z Axis ------------------ Z Axis Was Upgraded With 8Mm Rods And Lm8Uu Linear Bearings. Stock Stepper And Lead Screw Was Replaced With Two Stepper Motors With Integrated Lead Screw. I Used 400Mm Version But 360Mm Lead Screw Should Be Enough. Extruder And Hotend --------------------------- Extruder Assembly Was Reworked As Well. Now It Is Fully Printable Direct Extruder Working With Genuine E3D V6 Hotend And Volcano Upgrade. I Used 8Mm Inductive Proximity For Bed Leveling. Warning E3D Hotend Without Volcano Upgrade Will Be Too Short To Reach The Bed And Will Not Be Compatible With Layer Fan Duct! Electronics --------------- To Keep My Wires In Order I Designed Mks Board Case And Some Helping Elements For Wiring Management (I Use Mks Base V1.2 Board). Noctua Fan Is Used To Keep Board Cool. It Turned Out That It Is Effective Enough To Skip Mosfet Upgrade. It Is Noctua Nf-A9X14 Fan. How To Print It ------------------- Use Abs Or Petg. If Remember Correctly I Sued 0.3Mm Layer Height, 3 Perimeters And 35% Infill. If You Decide To Use Abs It Is Recommended To Use Skirt/Brim To Prevent Corners Lifting.
