Threaded Flashlight Tube Extension To Fit A 18650 Battery (25mm tube)
Description
This Is A Simple Tube Extension For An Inexpensive Type Of Led Flashlight. The Flashlight Normally Takes Three Aaa Batteries That Are Held In A Caddy, These Aaa Caddies Are Often Used To Replace An 18650 Battery, So It Seemed Like A Good Idea To Do The Reverse. Of Course The Big Gain In Battery Capacity Is A Side Bonus. :-) Ideally This Extension Would Be Printed In One Of The New Conductive Plastics Since The Metal Tube Of The Flashlight Is The Ground Return. I Don'T Have Any Of That Plastic, So The Model Has A Hole Through It To Place A Piece Of Wire To Make The Contacts. I'Ve Since Tried Using Copper Foil Tape To Make The Connection But, While This Has Worked Well, The Wire Method Will Probably Last Longer. See The Post-Printing Instructions For Both Options. **Edit:** For Me, The Foil Method Has Lasted Through A Few Removals Of The End Cap. Given How Long A 18650 Battery Can Last In This Flashlight, I'M Quite Happy With Using The Foil Method. **Newer Edit:** I'Ve Included A Shorter (17Mm Long) Version Of This Tube, Which Seems To Be A Better Fit For Some Flashlights. This Version Of The Tube Model Does Not Have The Wire Hole, And So It Requires The Foil Method Mentioned Above. This Extension Is Made For A Flashlight With An Approximately 25Mm Diameter Tube With A Thread Spacing Of 1Mm.
