Description

Update: Realized That I Had Forgotten To Add The File For The Universal Filament Guide I Designed, It Is Now Included. This Is My First Prototype For A Z Axis Extension Kit For The Wanhao Duplicator I3 Plus. All The Other Z Axis Extensions On Thingiverse Do Not Work On The Plus Model Due To The Guide Rods Being Mounted Differently Than The Other I3 Models, This Kit Works Specifically With The I3 Plus, And Is Sized As Such To Also Not Interfere With The Different Wanhao Z Brace Kits That Can Be Printed. This File Includes One Bracket File That Needs Printed Twice, One Of Them Mirrored From The Other, As Well As A Custom Filament Guide That Can Be Either Glued Or 3M Adhesive'D To The Cross Member, It Can Be Used With Or Without The Stock Spool Holder, But I Advise Using An External As The Weight On Top Of The Gantry Causes More Vibration During Printing. The Brackets Contain A 10Mm Hole On The Side For Hanging Accessories To Be Added, There Are Two Separate Styles That Are Included Here, But Anything You Design With A 10Mm Pin Can Be Installed For Your Specific Tools. For Installation You Need 12 (3X12-15Mmm) Screws To Replace The Stock Cross Member Screws, As Well As 4 (3X50Mm) Screws To Go Down Through The Guide Rod Block To The Guide Rod Seat, If You Are Only Installing The Extension You Will Need 4 3Mm Nylock Nuts, If You Are Installing Or Have Installed The Z Brace Kit, You Will Need An Extra 8 (12 Total). You Will Also Want A Fair Number Of 3Mm Washers, How Many Depends On The Thickness You Get, To Go Between The Bracket And The Cross Member, As It Was Originally Designed To Fit Inside The Gantry Towers, And Thus Is Slightly Smaller. It Is Important To Install The Guide Rod Blocks First, And Then Set The Free Gantry Down Onto The Guide Rods, And Then Install The Brackets To Ensure No Issues With Seating The Rods.
