Test Tube for Capturing Queen Ants
Description
This Is A Test Tube I Made For The Specific Purpose For Capturing Queen Ants. The Test Tube Is 16Mm In Diameter So You Should Be Able To Catch A Wide Range Of Queens, From The Smallest Monomorium To The Largest Myrmecia. Also Please Before You Go Out And Catch Queens That You Do Sufficient Research So That You Can Take Care Of Your Queen Properly, Be Sure To Know Whether Your Queen Is Claustral Or Semi-Claustral. There Are Two Types Of Test Tubes, One With Two Division (Two Slits) And The Other With Four Divisions (Four Slits), Both Are 16Mm. Post Printing: After You Have Printed The Tube Out You Should Have A Cylinder That Has Four Slits Or Two Slits In The Sides Depending On Which Version You Are Using. In Order To Prepare The Tube To Capture Ants, You Must Do The Following Steps: 1. Fill The Test Tube With Water Just Below Where The Slits Start. 2. After The Water Level Is Appropriate Stuff A Cotton Ball Down Into The Tube So It Soaks Up The Water. (Make Sure Not To Stuff It All The Way Down), This Will Provide Your Queen With Hydration And Provide The Test Tube Some Humidity Which Will Cause Your Queen To Lay Eggs. 3. After The Cotton Ball Is Secured Grab A Roll Of Tape (Must Be See Through) And Wrap It Around The Test Tube Making Sure You Leave No Gaps In The Slits, This Will Be Your Observation Window. 4. This Step Is Optional, But Crab A Cotton Bud, (The Ones You Clean Your Ear With), And Rub The Exposed Tape On The Inside Of The Test Tube With The Cotton Bud, This Is So You Reduce The Stickiness Of The Tape. 5. You Can Use A Second Cotton Ball As A Sealer If You Catch Any Ants, Cotton Balls Are Porous Meaning Air Can Flow In And Out Which Is Ideal. 6. Go Out In The Sun And Catch Yourself Some Ants Thanks For Reading And Hope This Test Tube Is Very Helpful
