Jeep Tube Door Latch
Description
Needed An Inexpensive Way To Make A Latch For A Set Of Tube Doors I Made For A Jeep Wrangler (Tj). Similar Uses Would Work Too, Like For A Gate Or Something You Have Access To Press The Button. I Designed These To Be Able To Push To Close Without Needing To Push The Button. You Will Need A Small Spring For The Mechanism On The Inside. I Got Mine Out Of The Set You Can Get At Harbor Freight. A Couple 4-40 Screws Or Near Equivalent Metric Screws Are Required And I Believe A 1/4-20 Screw For The Center Pivot. Holes Are Small So You Can Drill And Tap. Obviously Do Not Depend On These Latches Keeping The Doors Closed In A Roll Over Or Similar Event Off Roading. Always Wear A Seat Belt. I Included The Mount But I Didn'T Like It And Just Welded A Plate With Matching Holes. If You Are Fabricating Similar Tube Doors I'M Sure You Can Figure Out A Better Mounting Method.
