FLSun Cube Vampire Carriage - Chimera Hotend - BLTouch
Description
Update 01/20/2020 - I Haven'T Had This Printer Since Mid 2018, I No Longer Am Developing It Or Have Any Ability To Help With Issues. Future Model To Come With Half Circle Fan Directors Instead Of Linear Fan Directors. Disclosure: The Original Design Idea And Shape For The Fan Attachments Was Done By Rogerio (Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Rogerio_Rodrigues/About) Based On His Original Creation Here ------> Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2826072. What I Have Done Is Made Some Adjustments To The Length Of The Fan Nozzles, Integrated 50X15 Fan Mounting And Sealing, And Added An Adjustable Bltouch Sensor Holder. I'D Recommend You Print The Carriage In Petg, Abs, Or Something Similar For The Strength. Additionally, I Printed This At 20% Infill With 4 Perimeters And I Cut 5 Grams Of End Weight From Printed Part Compared To The Old Acrylic Original. Parts Needed, All Screws I Had Laying Around From Left Over From My Kit I Believe: 50X15Mm Blower Fan. I Bought A Dual Pack Off Amazon For $7 Usd I Believe, Rogerio Bought His Off Aliexpress For A Buck Or Two But Had To Order Them From Ali. 2X3M 25Mm Or Larger Screws (These Are Used For The Fan Mounts) 1X6Mm 3M Screw (This Is Used For The Fan Mount That Is Angled) 1X8Mm 3M Or Larger Screw (This Is Used For The Other Fan Mount) 4X3M Nuts 1X20Mm 3M Screw (This Is For The Bltouch) If You Wish To Print The Gasket (You Will Need X2) I Would Highly Recommend You Print It In Tpe, And Slowly In An Effort To Maintain The Dimensions So It Seals Off The Little Bit Of Air Leakage At The Top Of The Carriage Where The Fans Meet. If You Do Not Wish To Use A 3M Nut On The One Fan Mounting System, You Can Just Use Another Shorter Screw Of Your Choice. When I Printed Mine, The Hole Tolerances Are Tight Enough That No Nut Is Needed. On The Additional, The Angled Mount Screw Hole Is Directly Over One Of The Bearing Housings, So It Must Be Long Enough To Go Into The Carriage, But Not Go Through The Carriage Into The Bearing Housing. Instead Of Trying To Find A New Way To Fix It Via A Nut Like The Other, I Opted To Leave It Because Of How Well It Held On Its Own, Just Don'T Over Tighten Your Screw And Your Fine. Unfortunately, That Side Of The Carriage Has Very Limited Spots Where That Hole Could Go. Each Piece Is Uploaded Individually To Allow You To Easily Print Just What You Need. Especially If You Are Printing It In Petg, *Do Not Print Supports.* This Model Is Designed To Not Need Them At All, And Petg Is Miserable To Remove Supports And You'Ll Probably Just Break Your Parts. Once Everything Is Printed, Disassemble Your Old Carriage And Put The New Carriage In Its Place. Install The Fan Mounts, The Fan Pops In. It’S A Tight Fit, But It Was Glorious In Petg. Troubleshooting: Only Issue We Have Ran Into With This Aside From Printer Dimensional Issues, Is If Your Front Rod Is Warped On Your Printer, It May Stop The Carriage From Hitting The End Stop. Mine Initially Was Missing It By About 3 Mm. I Knew My Rod Was Bent, And After Adjusting It, The Carriage Did Meet The End Stop As Planned.
