My 5.5W Elek'S Laser Is Way Too Small, So I Ordered Some New Rails From Openbuilds And I Am Upgrading It. I Am Increasing The Size To 1000Mm X 700Mm. I May Add End Stops And May Add A Z Axis As Well. I Totally Redesigned The Project. I Am Unhappy With The Fit Of The Round Wheels On Standard Extrusion, So I Am Swapping Out All The 2040 Extrusion For V-Rail. I Designed The Parts For Use With Or Without Eccentric Spacers As Well. I Changed The Shape Of The Gantry To Reduce The Wasted Footprint And Moved The X Motor To The Top Of The X Axis Instead Of Below It. Next Step Is To Order Some Cable Chain And Design In Wire Management. My Goal Is To Make The Laser (Formerly Just Under 4"X8") Big Enough To Etch/Cut 36"X24" I Am Working On Some Renderings Of Assemblies. I Hope To Have Them Uploaded This Weekend.
