Description

Work In Progress: Many Parts Still Need To Be Tested, Designed, And Uploaded

Wanhao I3 / Maker Select Corexy Rebuild

Warning: This Rebuild Is Not Simple And Cheap, And Will Take A Lot Of Time. Read Through Everything Below Before Deciding And Purchasing Parts

Pros Of This Rebuild
- Rigidity: Frame Made Completely Of Aluminum Extrusions- Much Stronger Than The Stock Metal Sheet Frame - Precision: Mgn12 Rails Are Much Stiffer, And Offer Much More Stability. Ball Screws On Z-Axis Allow For More Precise Bed Movements - Faster Prints: By Only Allowing The Heavy Bed To Move In Z, And Extruder In X And Y, Print Speed Is Greatly Improved And Ringing Is Largely Reduced. Acceleration And Jerk Can Therefore Be Increased. Higher Torque Motors Will Allow For Faster Prints As Well. - Fits In A Typical Lack Enclosure - Larger Print Volume: Not Certain On Exact Size Yet- ~330X330X240 - Easily Modified- X Y And Z Are Easily Increased,
Cons Of This Rebuild
- Expensive: Total Cost Is Around ~$300. - Many Stock Parts Are Unused: X, Z, Rods & Leadscrews, Bed, Entire Frame Are Unused. This Is In Order To Turn This Printer Into A High-Grade Printer, So Cheap Stock Parts Were Generally Avoided And Replaced. - Not Easily To Assembly: A Lot Of Brackets, Screws, And Parts - Stock Board Is Most Likely Unable To Run Corexy Kinematics: I'M Running A 32 Bit Mks Board.

Bom
* Means The Part Is From Stock Printer
Will Be Adding Links Later
Aluminum Extrusions(From Misumi)

2020
- 6 X 30Mm - 2 X 60Mm - 2 X 350Mm - 2 X 351Mm - 4 X 400Mm - 6 X 423Mm - 2 X 463Mm
2040
- 2 X 60Mm
Rods

8Mm Rods
- 2 X 380Mm *
12Mm Rods
- 1 X 400Mm
Rod Clamps
- 4 X Sk8 - 2 X Igus Was-12
Bearings
- 1 X Lm8Luu * - 1 X Igus Rjzm-08 Must Be Metal - 1 X Igus Rjum-12 Must Also Be Metal
Ball Screws & Clamp
- 2 X 350Mm 1605 Ballscrew + Nut (Mine Were Cut From 550Mm) - 2 X Igus Kstm-16
Flexible/Spider Coupling
- 2 X 5*10 Flexible Coupling
Linear Rails
- 3 X 400Mm Mgn12
Bed

Aluminum Plate
- 1 X 1/4 Inch Mic 6/Tooling Aluminum Plate (Dimensions Tbd)
Silicone Heater
- 300X300 24V Silicone Heater W/ Adhesive
Nema 17 Motors

Z-Axis Motors
- 2 X 48Mm Nema 17 *
Top Motors
- 2 X 48Mm Nema 17(Recommended) Or Stock X&Y Motors *
Idlers/Belts

Toothed Idler
- 2 X Gt2 20 Teeth Timing Pulley *
Smooth Idler
- 8 X Gt2 Smooth Idler
Belts
- 5 Meters Fystec Fiberglass Reinforced Belts (Cheap And Are Decent Quality Belts)
Brackets

Top Motor Bracket
- 2 X Aluminum 2020 Nema 17 Bracket
Corner Brackets
- 18 X 90 Degree Aluminum Bracket - Around 25 X 90 Degree Corner Bracket - 8 X 2040 90 Degree Corner Bracket
Screws: Highly Recommend Purchasing From Trimcraftaviationrc
- Around 200 X M5 * 10Mm
