Motor Powered Wearable Thaumatrope
Description
I Am Currently Taking A Digital Fabrication And Design Class At Uw Milwaukee And For Our Second Project We Designed And Created An Electronic Wearable. This Is A Dc Motor Powered Wearable Thaumatrope. The Project Is Composed Of 3-D Prints, Vinyl Tubing, And Electronics Including A Dc Motor And A Push Button Switch. This Project Was An Experimentation Into The Feasibility Of Having A Wearable Thaumatrope As Well As The Feasibility Of Having A Motor Powered Thaumatrope On A Small Scale. I Have Come To The Conclusion That It May Not Be Possible To Have A Motor Powered Thaumatrope On A Small Scale, But Thaumatropes Can Certainly Be Wearable. I Used Rhino To Model All Of These Parts To Fit Both Objects I Had As Well As Each Other. It Was A Lot Of Trial And Error, And I Don'T Recommend Printing The Files As Is. Many Of Them Have Slight Variances Based On Printing Inconsistencies Regarding The Filament I Used. Also, The Thaumatrope Container Works Well, But The Threads Must Be Broken In By Repeatedly Putting It Together And Taking It Apart. This Can Be Extremely Difficult, But Is Possible.
