FlashForge Inventor Side Plate
Description
So One Of The Minuses Of The Inventor Is That It Holds The Spools On The Inside Of The Printer. Perhaps It Was A Bid To Push Users Toward Purchasing Ff Filament? They Do Seem To Want To Make Everything As Closed Source As Possible...But If They Sell A 3D Printer, Then Isn'T It Obvious There Would Be Effort To Overcome These Challenges? :) Thanks To Toolman207 For His Work. He Made External Filament Holders That Attach To The Side Of The Inventor. Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2178642 I Really Like The Vents And Entry Point, But I Wanted An External Holder And Enclosure For Filament As My Printing Is Done In The Basement, Along With Drying Clothes, Which Makes For A Humid Environment. The Vents And Internal Brace/Frame From Toolman207 Served As Inspiration. They Were Reconstructed In Fusion360. The Fit Of The External Vent Is Fine, Perhaps Just A Touch Loose. The Internal Frame Is Pretty Tight. The Edges Of The Snap In, And There Is A Very Slight Inward Bow. There Are Two Larger Openings Where Filament Can Snake Through To The Tubes. The Filament Is Held, Externally, By The Ultimate Spool Holder, Found Here At Thingiverse. It Sits Inside Of A Sealed Container That Has A Desiccant. Filament Comes Through The Container Via A Ptfe Tube In A Rubber Grommet. It Really Doesn'T Matter If The Sides Are Switched. It Really Depends On Preference - Do You Want The Filament Opening To Be Toward The Front Or The Rear? It'S Just Like Transformers, Only Not. Good Luck!
