Formbot E3D Titan & E3D V6 adapter

Formbot E3D Titan & E3D V6 adapter

Description

This Is An Adapter To Run The Titan Extruder And The E3Dv6 On The Formbot T-Rex 2+ The Titan Extruder Should Be The "Mirrored Version" For The Left Extruder And Regular Version For The Right Extruder. If This Is Not Done The Gear Will Overhang On The Wrong Side And Foul On The Opposite Extruder. Source Code Will Need To Be Modified To Rotate The Extruder In The Opposite Direction. See The E3D Manuals On What Needs To Be Changed For The Titan And The V6, The Formbot Uses Marlin Firmware. There Is Only 1 Ino File In The Formbot Source Code, Open This With The Arduino Ide. The Steps/Mm Are Set At 405.5 Instead Of 92.5 With This New System Due To The 3-1 Reduction And Smaller Filament Gear/Drive. Bottom Of The Carriage Will Need To Be Cut To Allow For The Shorter Length Of The E3Dv6 Formbot Circuit Board Will Need To Be Modified By Removing The Plug On The Circuit Board That Goes In The Motor, And Soldering A Plug With A Lead Instead. I Just Soldered The Wires From A Standard Nema 17 Motor Plug - Which Are Available Everywhere - Into The Desoldered Plug Holes Directly. I Added Screw Terminals Instead Of The Plugs, However This Is Not Necessary If You Prefer To Get The Correct Plugs. I Wired The E3D 24V Fan By Putting The +24V Wire In The Same Screw Terminal As The +24V For The Heater Cartridge As It Is Switched At Negative. I Then Added The -24V Wire Underneath The Db15 Plug Nut Using A Ring Terminal (Photo Shows Wire Just Sitting Under Nut) As This Is Earthed. This Will Cause The Fan To Be On Whenever The Printer Is On, Which Is What You Want. The Bl Touch Screws In Underneath And The Z Offset Will Need To Be Set To -3 To Begin With When Adjusting The Z Height Due To The New Position Of The Sensor Relative To The Nozzle. I Have Added Supports Into The Model Of The Ta Mount, Make Sure They Get Printed, They Are .51Mm Thick So Should Get Printed With Nozzles Below .5Mm. Once Printed, Cut These Supports With A Knife And File To The Desired Size So It Is A Snug Fit Over The Carriage. The Back Cover (Ta Back Cover) Has Two Holes That Need To Be Drilled Out After Being Printed. This Is So It Can Be Bridged Before The Hole Is Printed.
